Comfort exists so that nobody has to phone ahead and ask whether the chairs have arms. It works because members tell each other the truth about real places. These guidelines protect that.

Be honest about what you saw

• Rate the visit you actually had, not the one you expected.
• A partial review is welcome. Skip anything you did not notice.
• Do not rate a place you have not been to, and do not rate your own business or a competitor's.
• Say when you visited. A place can be remodelled, and old information that reads as current sends somebody on a wasted journey.

Be decent to people

• No harassment, hate, or discrimination of any kind. Comfort is for every gender, body, orientation, culture and age over 18.
• No body shaming, of anybody, including yourself in a way that targets others.
• No unsolicited sexual content, and no fetish framing of other members.
• No impersonation, no scams, no spam, no commercial solicitation.
• Never post sexual content involving minors, and never post non-consensual or intimate content of anybody.

Respect privacy

• Do not post another person's address, workplace, phone number, or exact location.
• Do not photograph other diners or passengers. Photograph the room, the seating, the facilities.
• What is said in a direct message stays there.

Meeting people, and travelling

• Comfort does not run background checks and cannot guarantee anybody's identity or intentions.
• Meet in public the first time. Tell somebody where you are going.
• Events, venues, airlines and train operators are third parties. Comfort does not organise, endorse, or vet them.
• Use your own judgement. You know your needs better than a score does.

What happens when this is broken

Content may be removed and accounts suspended or terminated. Reporting and blocking are built into the app and are free, permanently. Safety controls are never placed behind a purchase.
